I Want
I want to speak, but the words won't come.
I want to sing, but the tune is silent.
I want to laugh, but naught seems funny.
I want to smile, but my face is tired.
I want to cheer, but no one's winning.
I want to cry, but the tears are dry.
I want to write, but my mind is empty.
I want to read, but my eyes won't focus.
I want to sleep, but I'm too awake.
I want to run, but my feet are heavy.
I want to swim, but the water's cold.
I want to fly, but wings I'm lacking.
I want to hug, but I'm here alone.
I want to give, but no one's taking.
I want to help, but I'm pushed away.
I want to share, but no one's listening.
I want to speak, to sing, to laugh.
I want to smile, to cheer, and cry.
I want to write, to read, to sleep.
I want to run, to swim, and fly.
I want to hug, to give, to help.
But most of all I want to share
There's so much I want to do in life
And none matters 'til you care.
